Volunteers Needed!

Approximately 200 volunteers are needed to support the Stillwater Area High School Test Drive…Next Stop Reality® event on Nov. 12, 2024, sponsored by Royal Credit Union.

Test Drive is a hands-on experience in which students get to test drive their future and see if they have what it takes to make it on their own as a 25-year-old. The simulation begins with classroom pre-work, where students select a career and then research the education needed and salary that would come from that career. With an expected salary in hand, students come to the reality fair and make important decisions at 22 different stations in categories such as housing, utilities, transportation, childcare, insurance, and food. They visit each station to talk to volunteers who share information with them about the topic and guide them through the different options based on their lifestyle and budget. To further the simulation of real life, students will also be given random family assignments.
Volunteers will have the ability to choose which station to be at as well as choose half or full-day shifts. No experience is required. Volunteers will receive training, free lunch and the opportunity to meet like-minded people who are committed to truly making a difference in the lives of youth.
