Special Event & Development Intern (Unpaid)

Are you a high school or college student looking for real-world experience in nonprofit event planning and fundraising? Join the United Way of Washington County-East team this winter/spring and make a meaningful impact in your community.

Internship Dates: January 2025 – April 2025
Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week, weekday daytime hours
Location: Downtown Stillwater, with occasional local travel

As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience and valuable skills, including:

  • Event planning and logistics
  • Fundraising and donor relations
  • Using platforms like OneCause and Bloomerang
  • Professional communication and networking

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with event logistics, timelines, and schedules
  • Help source and manage auction items
  • Support gala setup, execution, and post-event wrap-up (event date: April 11, 2025)
  • Ensure all event practices and communications reflect our commitment to inclusivity

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to take on a variety of tasks
