October 2018. Saint Croix Falls, WI. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated Chateau St. Croix Winery’s New Ownership with a ribbon cutting celebration on October 11th, 2018. The journey to the winery was visited by Chamber Ambassadors and staff, community supporters, Chateau’s team was in attendance, and various wine-lovers all present.
Chateau St. Croix is a unique location just outside of St. Croix Falls, WI. The beautiful autumn-day road trip was a delight, touring the scenic St. Croix River Valley with a panoramic view of the fall leaves in full color to awe at during the short trip north east. In approaching the venue, a moment of silent wonder almost takes your breath away as you pull into the “French” countryside of the winery. The stately castle-like building sets against a back-drop of the European inspired grounds complete with a vineyard, carriage house, stables, and formal gardens. Modeled after a French Chateau once owned by a Black Musketeer, Chateau St. Croix Winery is located in the heart of the picturesque St. Croix River Valley. The experience continues inside the venue showcasing the European design through suits of armor, historical crests and pronounced flags of the French heritage the winery has been inspired through.
Chateau St. Croix Winery is owned by Adam Lamoureux and Irv Geary, and co-managed by Matthew Scott the Director of Marketing, Sales and Winemaking. At the event, Matthew Scott guided the group through their winemaking production and showcased the barrel room which houses their award-winning wines. The tasting room at Chateau is plentiful with bottles ready to sample, enjoy, and purchase as you sit and absorb the atmosphere which feels as though it transports you to another century. They also offer a deli with meat and cheese selections, along with great-pairing chocolates. Chateau sources grapes locally and from California to craft their fantastic and broad varieties. An array of reds, whites, roses, and dessert wines are amongst a few on their robust list. Wine tastings and tours of the winery will keep you entertained in the countryside of Chateau. The venue is available to rent for special occasions, too. The castle can accommodate small gatherings in their gorgeous gallery, and large events on the Italian-style patio. The Chateau takes great pride in sharing in your special day by honoring you with their services. Cheers to Chateau St. Croix Winery, where modeling themselves in nod to the history and traditions as their inspired European muse, the culture is as rich as the wine itself.
