HUDSON, WI – When we were young, adults had to ask us, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Now that we’re all grown up, we have to ask ourselves, “Who do we want to be when we grow old?” That’s the question Richard Leider's book Who Do You Want to Be When You Grow Old? helps answer. Because everyone is getting old, but not everyone is growing old.
On Wednesday, April 19, author Richard Leider will discuss how purposeful aging is a path to resilience and fulfillment. His well-known work celebrates the experience of aging through inspiring stories, real-world practices, and provocative questions designed to help readers navigate the path from adulthood to elderhood with choice, curiosity, and courage.
St. Croix Valley resident Richard Leider is the founder of Inventure – The Purpose Company, where the mission is to help people to “unlock the power of purpose” and answer the question: “Why do you get up in the morning?” An international bestselling author of eleven books including three bestsellers which have sold over one million copies, his latest book, Who Do You Want to Be When You Grow Old?: The Path of Purposeful Aging is the defining book on purposeful aging. The Power of Purpose and Repacking Your Bags are considered classics in the personal growth field. Widely viewed as a pioneer of the global purpose movement, his work is regularly featured in many media sources, and his PBS Special – “The Power of Purpose” – was viewed by millions of people.
