May 2024. Lumberjack Days 2024 will be taking place in historic downtown Stillwater July 19 – 21, 2024. A small group of dedicated local business owners are looking to produce the event to include an assortment of free entertainment and activities. “We are very excited to keep Lumberjack Days going and the St. Croix River and Lowell Park provides a perfect backdrop to this event,” states Brian Asmus, the lead organizer.
“Lumberjack Days has a very long history dating back to the 1930’s for those who honored the lumberjacks in the area” states Mayor Kozlowski. “With its deep-rooted history, and Stillwater’s prominence of being the birthplace of Minnesota it’s an honored tradition to continue Lumberjack Days in our beautiful town,” he continues.
The mainstay events will include, lumberjack shows, the soap box derby, a kids play area with inflatables and Sunday's parade produced by the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Foundation. We will be adding a “kid friendly” obstacle course and host the traditional pancake breakfast in the park on Saturday morning. There will be a limited number of food and event merchandise vendors in the park and a strong push to have guests and visitors explore merchants and restaurants on main street.
New entertainment will include daily shows from Ride MN doing BMX stunts on their elevated ramp and we’re really excited for the plan to bring back the “floating stage” a barge that was custom built for Lumberjack Days. National country music artists have been signed, including Canaan Smith, Stevie Monce, Craig Campbell, and more to announce soon. They will be performing from the floating barge along with the best Prince tribute shows in the country, Ovation will also be taking the stage.
