Bayport, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated St. Croix United Church with a ribbon-cutting celebration on September 17th, 2024. The event took place at 309 N 3rd Street in Bayport, MN with Pastor Clare, staff, congregation members, friends and Greater Stillwater Chamber ambassadors and staff. 

St. Croix United Church was established in October of 2023 as a merger of two congregations, People’s Congregational Church of Bayport and St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Stillwater, forming a new, progressive Christian community in the St. Croix Valley.  

Affiliated with both the United Church of Christ (UCC) and the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC), they affirm persons of all ages in their full humanity, welcoming questions and new ideas while striving to support one another along a journey of faith in action. 

The congregation recently worked through a strategic visioning process to distill core values, vision and mission:

• Values — Our relationships with God and each other form the current that empowers us to: nurture spiritual growth, invest in children and youth, commit to social justice and inclusivity, offer a space of belonging, and balance tradition with innovation.

• Vision — We envision an ever-expanding safe harbor where we thrive together and work with God toward love and justice.

• Mission — Moved by deepening relationships with God and each other, we unite with the wider community to transform our values into action.

With faith in a loving God and trusting that each person’s faith journey is unique, the people of St. Croix United Church invite you to join them for any upcoming event. You just may find a sense of community in their vibrant little congregation!
