May 2018. Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrates a 20-year anniversary with Culver’s at their Stillwater location on May 23. Business owner and operator Ben Gathie, General Manager Abby Baker, District Manager Emily Lindbeck, and Chamber Ambassadors attended the event.
In 1984 Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver’s in the family’s hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin. The Stillwater Culver’s was the 57th store to open and the 3rd Culver’s to open in the State of Minnesota. Owner Ben Gathie currently owns four Culvers and continues to be excited about future opportunities.
District Manager Emily Lindbeck, a Stillwater graduate, started her career at this Culver’s at age 15 and 19 years later is still with the company, now as District Manager. “I never thought I would still be here after all these years, but it is such a great company. We have so many regular customers who have become like family” stated Emily Lindbeck.
The Culver’s culture is impressive with a huge community focus. They pride themselves on quality and service. Every year Culver’s provides free custard on Memorial Day When asked what their best seller was, it was clear that french fries was on the top of the list.
“We love being part of the Stillwater community and getting involved” said Ben Gathie with a smile. It is an important component of our organization.
