Chamber Welcomes Luya Shoes and Other Fine Things

April 22, 2019. Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Luya Shoes and Other Fine Things at a ribbon cutting celebration on April 17, 2019. The event took place at their new space at 317 Main Street, Stillwater. Luya Shoes co-owners, Chamber Ambassadors, and staff were there to join in the celebration. The name Luya comes from a play on their last name Hawley, and combining it with Luya to make Hawley Luya. The Luya itself was a little more catchy and stuck.
Connie Hawley and her son Travis have brought Luya Shoes to historic downtown Stillwater to showcase their beautiful shoes. The artistic shoe boutique started in Zumbrota, MN and has had pop-up locations in Red Wing and Stillwater. The two adored Stillwater so much that they have decided to make it a permanent location for the store. Luya is a destination store and each Luya location is different. “We believe shoes are works of art! We strive to find hand crafted, well-made, artistically designed shoes and bring them from around the world to our stores in Zumbrota, and Stillwater, MN” stated Connie. “We look for comfort too, keeping in mind that comfort is a personal thing; and if you fall in love with one of our shoes I suggest you buy it, it may be gone the next time you stop in,” she said.
Both Connie and Travis Hawley live in Minnesota, but outside of Stillwater, and have joined the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce in order to stay involved with the fantastic Stillwater Community. The two are also in the process of opening another Luya store in Excelsior sometime in May.
