St. Croix EDC Donates $1,000 to River Valley Charities

Members of River Valley Charities (RVC) met with The St. Croix Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) to accept a $1,000 donation towards its cause.  Bill Rubin, Executive Director of SCEDC presented the check to RVC, represented by President Peter Greene, Vice President Doug Rohde and Board Member Mary Weller.

RVC was formed in 2015 by a group of business professionals who recognized the growing need to combat food insecurities in the St. Croix Valley. To date, the non-profit has donated nearly half a million dollars to local groups like backpack programs and food pantries which share the mission of providing food to those in need.  A large part of the RVC mission is to provide quality nutrition, especially to children so they can thrive in school; thus, they have developed ongoing partnerships with the Farm at Camp St. Croix (YMCA) and Happy Earth Orchard which donate an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables directly to the programs RVC supports. The St. Croix Economic Development Corporation, formed in 1993, operates as the independent economic development arm for St. Croix County. The non-profit is a 501(c)(6) which is a business league, composed of a diverse set of members that work to improve the business climate within a defined service territory. SCEDC lists over 100 public and private sector members that provide financial support or in-kind services to its successful operation.  To find out more visit stcroixedc.com.
