Co-op History

Co-op historian and author Martin Brown will present and discuss the development of consumer co-op grocery stores in Minnesota and the surrounding areas. River Market Co-op will be placed into historical context and attendees will explore the social, economic, and environmental impacts of consumer cooperation. This presentation will be accompanied by a photographic exhibit, which will be on display at River Market for the month of October. “Legacies and Impacts” book will be available in store for $6 or free with registration. The class will be held at the Loft, 218 North Main St., Stillwater, directly across from River Market.
