Get ready for the First Annual Lift Bridge Frozen Classic, a one-day broomball showdown on the scenic banks of the St. Croix River in downtown Stillwater! Taking place on January 24, 2026, as part of the World Snow Celebration, this event brings together teams, families, and fans for a full day of icy competition and community fun. With six-person teams battling for the top prize and bragging rights, participants can aim to etch their names on the Golden Broom Award, proudly displayed inside Charlie’s Pub!

Adults compete for the most coveted trophy in all of broomball, and ultimate frozen glory—runner-ups in both divisions earn medals. It’s winter fun, local pride, and fierce friendly competition all rolled into one unforgettable day on the ice!

​Adult Teams: $120 entry fee

Each team consists of six players, with a guaranteed minimum of two games during the tournament. Space is limited - only eight teams per division, so sign up early to secure your spot!

Registration includes gameplay, officiating, and commemorative event swag. Simply complete the registration form online, and get ready to compete for the Golden Broom!

Tournament Rules:

• Team Size: Rosters of 6 players. 4 on ice (3 + goalie).

• Game Length:

  • 2 × 15-minute halves, running time.

  • 2.5  minute halftime

  • 3 minute warmups​

• Overtime:

  • Round-robin: Ends in tie.

  • Playoffs: 3-minute sudden death → shootout.

• Equipment:

  • Broomball shoes or clean sneakers.

  • Helmets required.

  • Certified broomball sticks (provided by tournament)

• Discipline:

  • No checking or body contact.

  • Penalties: 2-min minor, 4-min major, ejection for severe infractions.

  • Fighting = ejection for entire tournament

Adult Division Rules

• Age Requirement: 18+.

• Skill Level: Open division.

• Physical Play: Incidental contact permitted but no deliberate checking.
